In criticising the libertarian philosophies of the past (“Fresh offensive as Anglicans fail on conversions”, September 18), the Anglican Archbishop of Sydney laments what those ideas have delivered: “gambling without end, abortion without limit, alcohol without discipline, sex without love, work without shared time off, families without children, children without parenting, suburbs without community, divorce without accountability, men without women and women without men, and speech without constraint” .

He forgot to mention information without wisdom, houses without homes, wealth without charity, facts without truth, choice without freedom, and sin without forgiveness.
