Christmas cards for 2012

Although it's a bit late for the Christmas just been, someone was telling me of a very funny Christmas practical joke. The prank is to send Christmas cards to your parents, or other members of your family, from people who don't exist in the following (or similar) manner:

"Dear (insert your family member(s)),

Hope you have had a wonderful year. Looking forward to catching up again soon, like we did back in 2009.

Love from John and Barbara"

Then watch with joy as your parents, or family, try and work out who John and Barbara are, and what they did with John and Barbara back in 2009.
