Chuggers - The reverse collection method

In response to the first mention of the charity aspect, express great shock and disbelief and say words to the effect:

“What an amazing coincidence, as I too am trying to obtain support for charity X (make sure it’s a different one from the one they are spruiking). Now the way that we do it at charity X is that if you would be so kind as to write down all your personal details, including credit card number and mother’s maiden name on this blank piece of paper, I can then get those put on our internet banking site immediately. I really am so pleased that you stopped me on the street like this as I’m always looking for similarly concerned and charitable people like yourself.”
