The Wednesday Word - apocopate

Today’s word is apocopate, which is when you omit the final sound or sounds of a word. It is something you probably don’t think you do much, but in fact we do it all the time.

Here is my quote for it:

“Reading his lad’s mag while cooking the barbie gave him street cred, but none more so than apocopating in front of his fam.”
